Frequently Asked Questions
What is an appropriate age to attend?
The recommended age range is 9-12 years old.
The first signs of puberty often begin around 9-10 years of age, so the sooner the better. However, if your child is outside this age range and you believe they will benefit from the course, then you’re probably right!
Is this information the same as the puberty education they receive in school?
No! This course will cover in-depth demonstrations and discussions about periods and puberty beyond what is typically discussed in schools. Additionally, it is taught by a licensed Physical Therapist who is comfortable answering questions and facilitating discussions.
What will be covered in this course?
This course will cover:
What is Puberty?
What is a Period?
Basic female anatomy.
Menstrual product choices.
How to use pads, tampons, and other period products.
Stages of breast development.
How to clean and care for your vulva.
Healthy vs unhealthy vaginal discharge.
This course will NOT cover sex education.
Can a Dad attend with their daughter?
No. At this time, we are only offering an all female class. A trusted female adult may attend with the child, with a parent’s permission.
Will this course cover sex education?
No.
In discussing anatomy, there will be only brief and to point mention of the female reproductive parts (ovaries, eggs, uterus, clitoris, etc) but this course will NOT include information on sexual intercourse, safe sex, or pregnancy prevention.
Do you offer refunds?
